Waging Bull

To boldly think what no one has thought before.

Capitol Invasion

There are those on the left claiming that the protest, break-in, and violence at the U.S. Capitol was a planned insurrection and take-over of the United States, instigated by Donald Trump. If that was the case, this man who was able to orchestrate the best Middle East peace agreements in history somehow thought he could “steal America,” and nothing was standing in his way. I suppose if you’ve been listening to nothing but voices on the left telling you how crazy Donald Trump is, maybe you might believe that.

Tell me, who more than a couple of blocks away from the Capitol building had any real fear for their lives? Who anywhere in the United States actually had any belief that those who broke into the Capitol wouldn’t be put down in a matter of hours?

Here we are just 4 days removed from those events, and what is happening now in DC? Or anywhere else? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of activity still going on. Because it was indeed a matter of hours before everything was put down. There was damage to property and loss of life (including the shooting death of an unarmed protester) which was tragic all the way around.

But who really believes it was a serious Capitol invasion? Rather, it was a group of protesters who went too far. There was no invasion, no organized plot to overthrow the government (not even a disorganized plot). Yes, it was a very bad thing, and as a Republican and Trump supporter I certainly condemn it and what those involved prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I would also like all the BLM and Antifa rioters from last year prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Will that happen? I doubt it. I don’t think anyone on the left has even yet admitted that these actions are wrong and should be condemned by all.

You know, if we’re talking take-over, these guys in Seattle did a much better job of it. https://www.city-journal.org/antifa-seattle-capitol-hill-autonomous-zone
